Description
Left-to-right, first row: The Little Prince; Huckleberry Finn; Cosette from Les Miserables.
Second row: Little Lord Fauntleroy; Moby Dick; Catskin.
Bottom row: Solome (from the Oscar Wilde play); Eros and Psyche; Don Quixote.
As I mentioned last time, I didn't want to flood everyone with separate images for each sketch, so here are those I have so far. These aren't the finished versions - they are value and composition study sketches. But I have trimmed and fixed each sketch so it is now an ACEO card.
Each card will be posted on Etsy [link] with profits going to support the Book Bus [link] . If it isn't there yet, try back later. I will be posting these sketches every other day.
2012 - Black and white charcoal and graphite on fawn-coloured Stonehenge cotton paper. Each card is 2.5" x 3.5".
NOTE: To the best of my knowledge, all of the illustrations I have drawn here are quite old and out of copyright. I have chosen each one out of deep love and respect for the original artist and author, and with the hope of prompting others to rediscover the classics and promote literacy. If one of these images is not out of copyright, and you are the copyright holder, please let me know and I will remove it.
